About Work West

Work West Enterprise Agency is based in the Glencolin Ward of West Belfast. The Agency was established in 1985 in response to LEDU's Local Enterprise Programme to encourage the development of the small business sector in West Belfast. It is a company limited by guarantee with a voluntary Board of Directors.

Work West operates as a Local Enterprise Agency, a not-for-profit company providing support for small businesses and community enterprises whilst playing an active role in the economic development at a local and regional level. The site has 50,000 square feet of work space which is available to let.

The main programmes delivered by Work West are Start a Business Programme, Develop a Business Programme, Target Growth, Enterprise Northern Ireland Loan Fund for Small Business and New Deal for Self Employment, and the Community Business Start Up Programme (currently not in operation but resuming shortly). This has allowed for the development of commercial and social entrepreneurship expertise.
