Training

The training offered through the Social Economy Belfast programme is entirely flexible, and based on groups’ individual needs.

A range of 3 hour modules will be offered at each of the 4 Phases of the programme.

Typically modules on soft skills development such as Personal Development and Leadership Skills will be offered alongside traditional business support topics such as Marketing Strategies, Financial Management, Creating Business Plans and ICT.

Training and support on Social Accounting and Auditing will also be offered to recognise the additional requirement on social businesses to meet their social as well as financial objectives.

Groups coming forward for the Social Economy Belfast programme will first be assessed on a one to one basis to identify which area of training is required. They will then be slotted into the appropriate Phase of the programme.

Some groups may have staff or volunteers who require different levels of training. This is not a problem – as the Phases of training can be offered to different people within the same group at the same time. This is something which can be determined in your one to one session.

Remember this training is offered free to groups within the Belfast area
